An innovative display at the recent Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show was inspired by the ancient past in an exhibit themed “The Land that time Forgot.” The display was a collaboration between Collectors Corner at Gardenworld, Victoria and The National Dinosaur Museum located in the ACT.

Meticulously created displays took the visitor on an imaginative journey from ancient eras to the present, with carefully created gardens replete with a plethora of ancient minerals and fossils. A prehistoric landscape was brought to life with animated dinosaurs, gigantic ants, an anaconda and a giant snail.

Large natural gemstone structures, myriad plants and flowers under futuristic trees enhanced the fantasia aspect of the displays set within the Melbourne Exhibition Building..

Eight months of meticulous planning and preparation by staff at Collectors Corner at Gardenworld, Braeside, went into creating the displays. Plants were grown in their own nurseries while the gems and fossils showcased were also from their own collections.

The display saw Collectors Corner at Gardenworld tie for the IMFGS Gold award for Visual Display with Big Leaf Boutique and Thrive Flower School. In 2023 the National Dinosaur Museum won the Canberra Region Tourism Award.
