Lady Gaga elated her fans at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 when she sung the French song ‘Mon truc en Plumes. ‘ Afterwards she went to visit President Emmanuel Macron and his wife and then stepped into town to try one of her long awaited culinary delights – a ham and cheese sandwich.
Eleven years earlier, the singer had revealed in an interview: “I love ham and cheese sandwiches from Paris.” At that time, she had had never been to France
Being invited to sing in the Olympics opening ceremony gave the New York based Stefani Germanotta the opportunity to savour some legendary French culture and art as well as Parisian food.
After her visit to the president, Lady Gaga was spotted downtown popping into Le Petit Vendome brasserie where she ordered a sandwich in French. As she ordered a security guard blocked the doorway of the brasserie.
French fans were thrilled when they saw the 38 year old Italian-American singer pop into the eatery.
Back in 2011, Lady Gaga told an interviewer that she “loved ham and cheese sandwiches from Paris.” Performing at the Olympics Opening Ceremony in Paris this year had helped her realise a dream to visit the French capital and its culinary delights.
Now she was spotted in a brasserie giving her order before sharing a laugh and a joke with one of the waiters who took her card payment.
Seeing the iconic Lady Gaga buy a take away sandwich only enhanced her appeal to her fans who now proclaimed she was “just like them.”
Earlier in the night, the songstress had dazzled in the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics clad in a black bustier surrounded by her black clad dance troupe waving pink ostrich feather pom- poms in outfits designed by Dior.
She celebrated French art and music and the city of Paris when she performed the Zizi Jeanmarie song which in English means “My Thing with Feathers”.
A jambon et fromage was the perfect way for Lady Gaga to savour the flavour of Paris as she relaxed. The portable snack never tasted better.
